BERNARD HOPKINS TO USE MC.EWAN FOR CALZAGHE
Here we go again... Speaking with The Scotsman , McEwan said he's eager to appear on the Hopkins-Calzaghe undercard. "I'm
firmly in the frame to go to Philadelphia to help Bernard Hopkins
prepare for his clash with Joe Calzaghe," McEwan said. "I'm up for that
as I've also been promised that if I do spar with Hopkins then I will
get a guaranteed spot on the Hopkins vs. Calzaghe undercard. Anybody
who is anybody in American boxing will be ringside for the fight and it

Bernard Hopkins,
recognized as the light heavyweight champion, has made quite an offer
to young middleweight prospect Craig McEwan (9-0, 6KOs). If McEwan
agrees to become Hopkins' sparring partner, he will land a guaranteed
spot on the undercard to Hopkins's anticipated clash with super
middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, scheduled for April 19 in Las Vegas.
McEwan,
a top amateur in his native Scotland and now living in Los Angeles, is
ready to help Hopkins with anything he needs to beat Calzaghe. McEwan
is trained by Freddie Roach, the frontrunner to train Hopkins for
Calzaghe. He is also represented by Golden Boy Promotions, where
Hopkins is a partner.

After receiving enthusiastic ovations and being applauded last December, for his notable victory against Ricky Hatton, Floyd “Money” Mayweather is now facing the fan’s insults and hate for his apparent decision of rematching the Golden Boy, Oscar de la Hoya, in a lucrative mega event that few, really few, want to watch, and that could be described with just one word: futile..
Yes, it is futile, unnecessary, pointless, redundant and only benefits the two fighters, because the 
aficionados –or at least most of them– don’t want to pay money for it again, and don’t want to watch it again. (I don’t think the first fight was boring. It was, in my opinion, average, but it wasn’t anything spectacular that needs a rematch).

One more detail. This fight would not happen in May 3rd, it would happen in September, so we have to wait more than six months. Oscar de la Hoya would probably want it to be in May, but Mayweather is being consequent with what he said and is taking some time off, is staying away from the rings. So it looks like Oscar de la Hoya will fight in May, for free, possibly against Steve Forbes or Paul Malignaggi, in what would be a kind of tune-up, while Mayweather rests from his turbulent 2007. LE COUP DU SOMBRERO
Avec les copains on se bagarre aussi souvent qu'on peut. On est toujours contents de se mettre plein de coup de poings sur le nez. Je voulais vous montrer un film avec Duran (c'est celui qui joue très bien de la guitare et qui se déguise en joueur de hand pour embêter le coach) et Hitman (celui qui mange plein de poulet congelé et qui soulève des tas d'haltère pour devenir très costaud). Duran il met plein de coups de poings à Hitman et ce Hitman là, il est un peu facétieux et coquin parce qu'il fait tomber le joli chapeau de Duran pour l'embêter. En plus c'est un joli chapeau tout neuf que le père Noël il a amené à Duran cette année, alors ça l'a drôlement agacé. Mais je vous laisse regarder...

“This is a great honor, especially coming from the Russian Professional Boxing Federation,” said Ibragimov from his training camp in Florida, where he is preparing for his February 23rd title unification bout with Wladimir Klitschko. “I worked very hard in 2007 and achieved one of my dreams by winning the world heavyweight title. I am doing everything in my power to surpass my achievements of 2007 in 2008, beginning with my fight with Klitschko next month.”
Born in Kaspiisk on March 8, 1975, Ibragimov was a late bloomer in the fight game, only picking up the sport at the fairly advanced age of 17. But anyone who saw him, even in those formative years, knew that he had the talent and determination to go far. A 2000 Olympic silver medalist for Russia, the 32-year old Ibragimov has mirrored his amateur success in the pro ranks, where he is unbeaten in 23 fights with one draw and 17 knockouts. In 2007, Ibragimov’s stellar campaign included a 46 second TKO of Javier Mora in March, a decisive win over Shannon Briggs in June which earned him the WBO Heavyweight Championship, and an October unanimous decision victory over future Hall of Famer Evander Holyfield.
